Future Senedd Committee

1.       Committee members continued their discussion on how the Future Senedd Committee (“the Committee”) should approach its remit, and agreed its work programme and approach.

2.      As part of its work programme and approach, the Committee agreed to:

§  Hold a roundtable discussion with selected former Members of the Senedd to explore the barriers to representation within the Senedd;

§  Invite current and former Members of the Senedd, and former Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament, to submit views on the organisation of Senedd business and any barriers they encounter/encountered to the effective delivery of their roles;

§  Write to other committees and bodies within the Senedd to seek further information on their work, to ensure this work can be taken account of in the Committee’s considerations;

§  Launch an open call for written submissions in relation to the thresholds contained within the Senedd’s Standing Orders, with targeted approaches made to political parties.
